RULE 1 - Boats must be kept 30metres/50feet from shore at all times. (FULL CAST)
RULE 2 - No anchoring to Buoys,trawling or beaching boats anywhere on dam.
RULE 3 - No ENGINES to be started within 30metres of shore or islands.
Please row out into open water before starting engine.
RULE 4 - Life jackets compulsory and must be worn. SUPPLIED
RULE 5 - No ALCOHOL allowed at any time in boats or on bank.
RULE 6 - No Bait, spinning, or flicker spoon flies. No PIKE FLIES .
RULE 7 - All boats must be returned to jetty by end of session.
RULE 8 - Do not remove engines from boat for any reason.
RULE 9 - Boats should be kept at half speed to limit disturbance to other anglers.
RULE 10 - No ENGINES to be used in the Hectors bay area or the TOP TANK. Due to
very shallow water and submerged dykes.
Due to the very shallow, rocky bottom attention must be paid to the danger areas and engines must not under any circumstance be started within 30 metres of any shore. The water may look deeper than it is due to the peat colouring. Please obey the fishery rules at all times and fish safely.
Any angler Deliberately breaking the above rules will automatically VOID their ticket and be ordered to return to the jetty without refund.
Harelaw is very exposed and good boat handling and use of a DROGUE is essential to a successful day. If in any doubt about engine or boat operation please ask for help or advice and save problems later.
Catch & Release anglers are expected to unhook fish in the water or a wet net with wet hands and cause the minimum stress, no boobys or barbed hooks to be used. Fish should never be dragged onto the bank or landed into the boat.
Please respect the bank anglers when fishing and casting too or motoring near shore.
Never start engine within 30metres/50feet of the shore.
